* President Obama Writes Indian Valley Students Indian Valley Middle School students in Mr. Beckley’s 8th grade English class received a nice surprise in the mail just before going on Christmas break. Mr. Beckley’s students wrote friendly letters to President Obama for a class project and the President wrote back thanking them for writing and wishing them well in their choices of life. President Obama included a signed picture for the class. Mr. Beckley stated that his classes have written letters to former President Bush as well but this is the first time they have received a response. The kids were very excited about the response and they also wrote to veterans on Veteran’s day and received responses from them as well. Mr. Beckley also stated that it is important for the kids at this age to start to realize that they have a voice and can say thanks to those who served and give back to their communities.
