Special Education

Welcome to Indian Valley Student Services and Special Education!

The Special Education Department at Indian Valley seeks to build positive relationships and work together with families. We are committed to providing students with disabilities the support they need to ensure successful school experiences as we strive to prepare them for responsibilities associated with adulthood.

Both the Evaluation Team Report (ETR) process and the Individual Education Plan (IEP) processes are followed to provide a personalized educational experience for each student. Eligible students are entitled to a free appropriate public education.

As the Director of Student Services, I will keep Indian Valley families, staff and the community informed on issues and updates regarding accessible opportunities offered to our students. Parents will be notified each time their student with a disability is due for an evaluation and each time the child’s IEP is developed, reviewed and/or amended. Additional information can be found using the Resource Links section on this webpage.

It is an honor to serve the Indian Valley community.

Best Regards,
Megan Heath
Director of Student Services

Child Find

Indian Valley Local School District is reaching out to families in our community that may have a child with special needs. Public schools are required by Federal and State law to evaluate any child from birth to 21 suspected to have a disability. Special education services are available through the public schools for children ages 3 through 21 identified with a disability. If you have a child or know of a child you suspect may have a disability under the Individuals with Disabilities Improvement Act or Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, please contact Megan Heath, Director of Student Services at 740-254-4334.
