Indian Valley Local Schools’ Student and Teacher Recognized as Partners In Education Winners

A student and a teacher at Indian Valley Local Schools have been selected as monthly Partners in Education winnersa program run by the Ohio Lottery Commission. Ninth grade student Sarah Myers was recognized as the Ohio Lottery Partners in Education Academic All-Stars for the month of April.  Teacher of the Month for April was Alisha Hovanick from Port Washington Elementary School.

Myers attends Indian Valley High School and is known as a kind-hearted and academically inclined freshman. She demonstrates excellence not only inside, but outside the classroom. Currently, Myers has a 4.0 GPA and continues to challenge herself to reach high standards, while also proving to have grit and integrity on the softball field. Her dedication to bettering not only herself, but those around her, is contagious!

Hovanick teaches kindergarten and is extremely skilled in her ability to reach and teach students.  During the 2021-2022 school year, Mrs. Hovanick’s students have demonstrated high academic growth.  Additionally, she greets them every day with a smile and a joke or two.  They cannot get through the day without both learning and laughing in Mrs. Hovanick’s class.
