Dear Indian Valley Families:
It is our sincerest intent to maintain in-person learning 5-days per week for the 2021-2022 school year. With that being said, I would not want us to get caught-on-our-heels if a situation were to arise where we would need to go to Remote Learning for a temporary period of time.
One issue that could potentially put us in such a position is if a significant number of staff members were out at the same time, and we were unable to secure enough substitutes for adequate coverage. In this example, a short period of Remote Learning would be necessary.
A Remote Learning decision could be made for the entire school district or on a building-by-building basis. Such a decision could be limited to a particular grade level too if circumstances would permit.
Again, our intent is to remain in-person. However, we want to communicate our contingency plans in advance, so you can in turn establish contingency plans for your family if we were to go remote.
If this were to occur, learning would be conducted in real-time using Zoom for all grades K-12. Schedules for Remote Learning Zoom Classes at each school building are linked below.
If you do not have internet service, we do have several T-Mobile hotspots available. Contact your building principal if you need one:
High School: Mr. Clarke 740-254-4262 High School Remote Schedule
Middle School: Mr. Carter 740-922-4226 Middle School Remote Schedule
Midvale: Mr. Wells 330-339-1191 Midvale Remote Schedule
Port Washington: Mr. Page 740-498-8389 Port Washington Remote Schedule
Lastly, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact either myself or your building principal. It is an honor to serve you.
Dr. Ira Wentworth
